About this policy
Stepwise is a personal health and routine journal for adults, operated by Cubicfox Kft. Contact: info@cubicfox.com. This policy covers the Android 1.0 release. Updated September 13, 2026.
Your journal stays on your device
This Android release stores journal entries, medication plans, weight, nutrition, hydration, symptoms, steps, garden progress and optional photos locally. The native journal uses SQLCipher encryption. Journal cloud synchronization is disabled in this release. Exported or shared copies are outside the encrypted app storage.
Optional account
An optional account uses Supabase to process your email address, account identifier, authentication records and the time and version of the terms you accept. Resend delivers verification and sign-in emails. These providers also process technical connection and delivery records to operate and secure their services. Account login does not upload the health journal in this release. Passwords used for sign-in are transmitted to Supabase over HTTPS for authentication; Stepwise does not save the entered password. Session credentials are stored in encrypted native storage.
Health Connect
With your permission, Stepwise can read steps, weight, hydration, nutrition including calories and protein, body fat, lean body mass and blood glucose from Android Health Connect. Historical health records are reviewed before import. The optional daily step connection can read steps in the background to update daily progress. This release does not write to Health Connect. Health records are used for the journal and progress features, not advertising. You can revoke permissions in Health Connect at any time; revocation does not erase records you already imported into Stepwise.
Photos and reminders
You choose whether to take or add private progress photos. Camera access is used only for the photo feature. Photos remain on the device in this release unless you export or share them. Notifications are optional local reminders, not medical alarms.
Sharing and service providers
Stepwise does not sell personal information or use advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking. Supabase and Resend process the account and operational information described above to provide the service. You decide whether to export or share your journal and photos. Such copies are controlled by the recipient or app you choose. Stepwise does not send your health journal or photos to these account providers in this release.
Retention and deletion
Local journal data remains until you erase it in Stepwise or remove the app. You can delete your account from Settings > Account; deleting an optional account is separate from erasing the local journal. You can request account deletion without the app by emailing info@cubicfox.com from the registered email address with the subject Stepwise account deletion. We verify ownership before processing the request. Exported copies are not removed by account or journal deletion. Infrastructure backups and security records may be retained under provider settings and legal obligations; no fixed retention period is promised.
Your choices and rights
You can access and export your journal, correct or delete entries, revoke Health Connect and notification permissions, and delete your optional account. Contact info@cubicfox.com for privacy requests, including access, correction, deletion or restrictions on processing. You may also contact your competent data protection authority. Do not include health records, passwords or sign-in codes in an initial email.
Children and medical information
Stepwise is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is a personal tracking tool and is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions, and does not recommend medication or doses. Follow your qualified healthcare professional’s instructions.
Changes
This policy must be updated before features or data practices change. The app provides links to its privacy information and terms.
